Ethel Mae Barbour Cawthorn, age 83, of No Bob, KY, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at T J Samson Hospital, Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 26, 2016 at 1pmCT, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with Brother Billy Michael Stinson and Brother Paul (Cricket) Strong officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 2pm until 9pmCT, and on Friday after 7amCT, until time of services.



Ethel Mae Barbour, 83, No Bob, KY (1933-2016)


Born July 8, 1933 in Eighty Eight, KY, she was a daughter of the late Fondal Felix Barbour and Mallie Mathews Barbour. She died Tuesday, August 23, 2016, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 83 years, one month, and 15 days.

She was a mother, housewife and factory worker. She was a member of the Mt Poland Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: Darrell Wayne (Wanda Jean) Cawthorn, Gamaliel, KY; and Timothy "Sunshine" Farrell Cawthorn, No Bob, KY

  • One brother: Emmett Erroll Barbour, No Bob, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Anitra Dannielle Stamps, Katie Mae Cawthorn, Amanda Jean Cawthorn, Malina Ann Cleary, and Cody Damon Cawthorn

  • And six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by two grandchildren, Clinton Lee Cawthorn and John Daniel Cawthorn; two sisters, Milly Lee Barbour and Mary Emoline Wolfe; and the father of her children, C. P. Cawthorn.
