Mrs. Marie Milby, Green County, KY (1927-2016)


She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a sales representative and consultant for Mary Kay products and a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Milby & Gracie Skaggs Milby, and the widow of the late Virgil Walls Milby, her husband of over 60 years. She leaves 15 direct living descendants.

Mrs. Marie Milby of Summersville, KY, daughter of the late Oscar Milby and Gracie Skaggs Milby, was born on March 2, 1927 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg. She was 89 years, five months, and 19 days of age.

The funeral services for Mrs. Marie Milby will be conducted at 1pmCT, Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Bro. Timmy Shirley and Bro. Robert Knight officiating. Visitation is requested 5pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Wednesday until time of the funeral service.

Mrs. Marie Milby of Summersville, Green County, KY, daughter of the late Oscar Milby and Gracie Skaggs Milby, was born on March 2, 1927 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Green County, KY. She was 89 years, five months, and 19 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a sales representative and consultant for Mary Kay products and a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Virgil Walls Milby on May 9, 1942 who preceded her in death on March 7, 2013.

Survivors include:
  • A son and daughter-in-law: David R. and Marilyn Milby of Summersville, KY

  • Three grandchildren and their spouses: John D. and Maranda Milby of Summersville, KY; Adam and Nicole Milby of Tennessee, and Annette K. and Kenny Perkins of Buffalo, KY

  • Nine great-grandchildren

  • Two great-great-grandchildren

  • A brother and sister-in-law: Brooks and Geneva Milby of Summersville, KY

  • and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Milby was also preceded in death by a son: Virgil Walls Milby, Jr. on April 3, 1946; two brothers and two sisters: Russell Milby, Damon Milby, Edna Stephens, and Aileen Beams.
