Joyce Adams Blair, 77, Pellyton, Adair Co., KY (1939-2016)

She was a member of a talented, highly regarded Northeast Adair County, KY, family. She was a member of Barnett's Creek United Methodist Church. She had worked as a teachers aid for the Adair County School system, and was past President of Adair County Homemakers. She was the daughter of the late Jessie Wilmer & Elizabeth Shaw Adams, and the widow of Ronald Blair. She leaves nine direct living descendants.

Adair County died Sunday August 21, 2016 at 7:40 PM at Casey County Hospital in Liberty, KY after an illness

Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11amCT, at Barnett's Creek United Methodist Church, 1338 Barnetts Creek Road, Columbia, KY, in the Pellyton community of Adair County, KY, with April Beard, Bro. Larry Lemmon, Bro. Troy Long, and Bro. Steve Janes the officiating clergy. Interment in Barnett's Creek Cemetery beside the church. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Tuesday, April 23,2016, & after 6amCT, Wednesday until 9:00 AM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, and after 10amCT, Wednesday at the church.



Joyce Adams Blair, 77, Pellyton, Adair Co., KY (1939-2016)

She was born on Sunday, January 15, 1939 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Jessie Wilmer & Elizabeth Shaw Adams. She died Sunday, August 21, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 77 years, seven months, and six days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Blair on June 23, 2004; two brothers and one sister, Travis Adams, Jessie Adams & Diana Elizabeth Lemmon; and by son-in-laws, Jack Beck, Jr. & Daryl Greer

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Rhonda Beck of Columbia, KY

  • One son: Greg Blair of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Kenneth (Betty) Adams of Campbellsville, KY

  • Lifelong friend Verlene Sapp Adams of Somerset, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Stephen Beck, Kent (Laura) Greer, Hannah (Tyler) Curry and Leah Greer

  • Three great grandchildren
She was a member of Barnett's Creek United Methodist Church. She had worked as a teachers aid for the Adair County School system, and was past President of Adair County Homemakers

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Gideon Bibles, donation to United Methodist Homes for Children & Youth or Barnett's Creek Cemetery and may be made at the funeral home
