Mr. Roy Lawrence Shuffett, 93, of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. Roy Lawrence Shuffett will be conducted at 11amCT, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation is requested from 4pm until 8pmCT, Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Saturday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Ashley Shuffett, Luke Shuffett, Jon Shuffett, Corbin Shuffett, Tyler Bray, Kris Thompson, Jon Aaron, and Adam Bloyd.

Honorary pallbearers: Grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Roy Lawrence Shuffett, Greensburg, KY, (1923-2016)

Mr. Roy Lawrence Shuffett of Greensburg, KY, son of the late William Ollie Shuffett and Vester Chaney Shuffett, was born on March 16, 1923 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY. He was 93 years, five months, and two days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Separate Baptist Church. He was a lifelong farmer, and a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Jean Givens Shuffett of Greensburg, KY, having united in marriage on November 4, 1948.

Other survivors include:
  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: Donald Dean and Bonnie Shuffett; and Stanley and Karen Shuffett, all of Greensburg, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Nine great-grandchildren

  • Two great-great-grandchildren

  • A sister: ReeHanna Larimore of Lexington, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Shuffett was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Shannon Shuffett Edwards; and a sister: Florence Coomer.

Memorials are suggested to the Liberty Cemetery which can be made at the funeral home.
