Luis Fernando Medrano Alcaraz, 21, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Friday, August 12, 2016 as the result of an automobile accident on Sulphur Creek Road in Adair County.

Memorial mass will be Friday, August 19, 2016 at 3pmCT at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1217 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 12pmNoonCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia KY, with visitation starting at 10amCT, Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation has been chosen.

Luis Fernando Medrano Alcaraz was born August 4, 1995, in San Fransico, Michoacan, Mexico. He died August 12, 2016, in Adair County, KY, at the age of 21 years, eight days.

He was a construction worker and had attended Lindsey Wilson College.

Survivors include:
  • His parents – Estercico Medrano Morales of Mexico and Sofia Alcaraz Valencia of Columbia

  • His daughter – Zophia A. Medrano of Columbia

  • Five brothers – Martin Medrano of Columbia, Rafael Medrano, Emmanuel Medrano of California, and Saul Medrano both of Mexico, Jacinto Medrano of California

  • Two sisters – Yadira Medrano and Sandra Medrano both of Columbia

  • His girlfriend – Liznett Ruiz of Columbia
The family has requested that those attending either service are to wear something white.
