LWC men's soccer 2nd in MSC preseason poll

The Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team was picked to finish second in the Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, behind favorite Campbellsville University, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

The Blue Raiders earned a total of 42 points in the poll and also received three of the eight first-place votes.


Campbellsville (KY) was picked as the favorite receiving 47 points and the remaining five first-place votes. Cumberland (TN) is close behind Lindsey Wilson in third place receiving 40 points. Cumberlands (KY) is fourth receiving 26 points and Shawnee State (Ohio) is fifth in the poll with 24 points.

Rounding out the poll is Life (GA) with 19 points, Georgetown (KY) with 17 points and Pikeville (KY) who earned nine points.

Lindsey Wilson finished last season with an overall record of 14-5-2 with a 5-2 conference record. The Blue Raiders made it to the first round of the NAIA National Tournament where they fell to Indiana Wesleyan on penalty kicks.
