The Expo, referred to by some as the best one day Expo in the southeastern United States, has grown annually as a result of partnerships forged with several national organizations in an effort to provide a comprehensive outdoor experience for the people of south central Kentucky. This spirit of cooperation has lead to three Kentucky Championships being conducted in Columbia that bring in contestants from twelve or more states annually. It is known and nationally recognized that the best of the best competitors can be found in Columbia, KY, on the first Saturday in August competing for the honor of qualifying for National and World titles. The Expo was built around an expansive group of vendors that offer products of interest to the entire family. This year's event featured boats, ATVs, hunting and fishing gear, Outdoor celebrities featured on the Outdoor Channel and products for the entire family. The 2016 Seminar Series featured timely topics such as the mosquito transmitted Zika Virus, the tick induced Alpha-gal an allergy to red meat and topics for hunters and fishermen Children's activities are a focal point every year with numerous activities that are fun, educational and free. As always the expo provides each adult a free ticket on a new John Deere Gator which for the second time in seven years remains in Adair County. The proud owners of the 2016 Gator is David and Kathy Keith. We hope you'll make your plans now to attend the 2017 South Central KY Outdoor Expo on the first Saturday in August next year, August 5, 2017. - Terry Partin This story was posted on 2016-08-08 01:33:33
