William (Bill) Watson, Adair Co., KY (1929-2016)

He was a native of Cane Valley, KY, was a longtime resident of Elizabethtown, KY, and will be returned to Cane Valley for his final resting place. He was the son of the late Archie William & Mattie Wilson Watson. He leaves 15 direct living descendants. He was a member of the Cane Valley Christian Church, a home builder in Elizabethtown, KY, for many years, owning the Kentucky Builders Supply. He was a Past President of the Kentucky Home Builders Association, a Kentucky Colonel, a Mason, a member of the Lions Club in Elizabethtown, KY for many years and was a committee member of the Cane Valley Cemetery for many years.

William "Bill" Watson, 87 of Elizabethtown, KY formerly of the Cane Valley Community in Adair County, KY passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 1:50amET, at the Signature Healthcare of Elizabethtown, KY after an illness.

Funeral service: Friday, August 5, 2016 at 11amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, Bro. Ivan Tucker the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Cane Valley Cemetery,87 Cane Valley Cemetery Road, Cane Valley, KY. The family request visiting after 3pmCT, on Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Stotts-Phelps- McQueary Funeral Home.

He was born May 7, 1929 in Cane Valley, KY the son of the late Archie William and Mattie Wilson Watson. He died Tuesday, August 2, 2016, in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, KY, at the age of 87 years, two months, and 26 days.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Gregory Keith Watson in 2010; one grandson, Trenton Thomas Watson; and by one sister, Imogene Schroerlucke Bill.

He was a member of the Cane Valley Christian Church, a home builder in Elizabethtown, KY, for many years, owning the Kentucky Builders Supply. He was a Past President of the Kentucky Home Builders Association, a Kentucky Colonel, a Mason, a member of the Lions Club in Elizabethtown, KY for many years and was a committee member of the Cane Valley Cemetery for many years.

He is survived by:
  • One son: Jeffrey Watson of Elizabethtown, KY

  • One daughter: Marcia Siebel of Cincinnati, Ohio

  • One daughter in law: Donna Watson of Elizabethtown, KY

  • One sister: Betty Faye Langley of Leitchfield, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Chase Thomas Watson, Becky Puckett, Nikki Skidmore, Daniel McEntush, and Michael McEntush

  • And seven great grandchildren
