Mr. Lonnie Luther Abbott, 73, of Somerset, KY, formerly of Monticello, KY passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at The University of Louisville, KY.

A gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate his life, 4pm-7pmCT/5am-8pmET, Thursday, July 28, 2016, at the home of Ms. Hilda Richardson, 127 Kendrick Avenue Monticello, KY.



Mr. Lonnie Luther Abbott, Clinton Co., KY (1942-2016)


He was born on Tuesday, July 28, 1942, in the Beech Bottom community of Clinton County, KY, the son of Arlen Roosevelt and Ivola Troxell Abbott. He died Monday, July 25, 2016, 2016, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 27 days.

He was a mechanic for Chevrolet Motors and a Proud Democrat. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Elmer Abbott, Betty Dyson and Stephen Abbott.

He is survived by his wife, Jerry Abbott of Somerset, KY, and the following:
  • Four children: Nora (and Robert) Marcum of Somerset, KY; Mark (and Tatjana) Abbott of Germany; Susan (and "J.R.") Richardson of Monticello, KY; and Michael Abbott of Corbin, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Kyle Marcum, Trey Richardson, Zachary Richardson, Melanie Richardson, Melissa Abbott, William Richardson, Hayley Abbott and Houston Abbott

  • Two great-grandchildren: Eli and Colson
