Linda Rector Kerns, 74, Columbia, KY (1942-2016)

Linda was a cook for the Adair County school system, homemaker and a babysitter for many years. She was a native of Adair County, KY,and a resident of thecounty at the time of her death. She was the matriarch of a highly regarded Adair County, KY, family, the daughter of the late Sam & Nina Stargel Rector and the widow of Rollin Kerns. She leaves four direct living descendants.

Linda Kerns, 74 years of the Sulphur Creek Road, Columbia, KY passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY after several months illness.

The funeral service for Linda Kerns will be Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 11amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. David Coffey and Teddy Johnson officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery. The family request visiting after 4pmCT, on Monday, July 25, 2016, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Linda Kerns, 74, Columbia, KY (1942-2016)


She was the daughter of the late Sam and Nina Stargel Rector. She Was born March 6, 1942. She died Friday, July 22, 2016, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 74 years, four months,and 16 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rollin Kerns on April 7, 2015 She is survived by:
  • One daughter: Paulette Cox and her husband Jerry of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two sons: Dennis Kerns and his wife Alicia of Campbellsville, KY; and Brian Kerns of Jamestown, KY

  • One grandchild: Miranda Scott

  • Two brothers: J.C. Rector & Jerry Rector both of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Jewel Belton & Nelda June Wolford both of Louisville, KY
Linda was a cook for the Adair County school system, homemaker and a babysitter for many years.
