Josephine Rice Hubbard, 83, Adair Co., KY (1933-2016)

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had worked at Louisville Label Company. She was a member of a highly regarded Adair County family. She was the daughter of the late Edward Clay & Purnie Emma Cox Rice. She leaves four direct living descendants.

Josephine Rice Hubbard, age 83 years of the Knifley Road, Columbia, KY died Friday July 15, 2016 at UK Hospital in Lexington, KY from injuries received in an automobile accident on Dunbar Hill near Knifley, KY on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 2:43pmCT.

A joint funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bishop Michael Rodenbuerg officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 102 Mt. Carmel Cemetery RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 3pmCT, Monday, July 18, 2016, at the funeral home.

She was born on February 21, 1933 in Adair County, KY She was the daughter of the late Edward Clay & Purnie Emma Cox Rice. She was preceded by one sister Margaret Rice Dunn who was in the automobile accident; also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Lee Rice.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter, Regina Badouan of Louisville, KY

  • One sister: Martha Roberta Rice Crouch of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Joseph Earl Rice and Wyman Douglas Rice both of Lexington, KY

  • Granddaughter: Elizabeth Beyl Burrows & her husband Robert James of Louisville, KY

  • Two great grandchildren: Morgan Adair Burrows & Samuel Jacob Burrows

  • Several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had worked at Louisville Label Company.
