He was a devoted husband, father, and of the Baptist faith. Marty also loved his animals, fishing, and driving his tractors. In years past, he enjoyed drag racing. He was a carpet installer for over 30 years. his wife, Jamie Romans Mays, survives. He leaves 19 direct living descendants.

Marty Dale Mays, Sr. of Liberty, KY passed away July 7, 2016 at the Casey County Hospital. He was 51 years of age.

Cremation rights were honored by McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Born August 11, 1964 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of Foster Mays and the late Jean Cotton Cooper. He died Thursday, July 7, 2016, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 51 years, 10 months, and 26 days.

He was a devoted husband, father, and of the Baptist faith. Marty also loved his animals, fishing, and driving his tractors. In years past, he enjoyed drag racing. He was a carpet installer for over 30 years.

Survivors include his beloved wife Janie Romans Mays, and the following:
  • One son: Marty (Rachael) Mays, Jr. of Liberty, KY

  • Four daughters: Christy Mays (Todd) of Liberty, KY; Kelly (Dwayne) Mays of Winchester, KY; Jessica (Clayton) Spradlin of Bethelridge, KY; and Shannon Mays (Buddy Smith) of Liberty, KY

  • Three sisters: Lora (David) Guy of Liberty, KY; Donna Jean Herring of Berea, KY; and Kathy Bean of Paris, KY

  • Fourteen grandchildren
