Basic math: Children need to learn to count. Period

By Joyce Coomer

In addition to children learning to count money, they also need to learn to count, period.

We ordered a several piece box of food yesterday, with three additional pieces. We were charged for the three additional pieces but when we got home, discovered that not only were the three additional pieces of food NOT in the box, we were also one short of the number of pieces of food that were stated on the menu.

In addition to learning to count, children (and most adults) need to learn to pay attention to what they're doing . . . not playing with their phones nor having frivolous conversations instead of paying attention to their work.
