Taylor Co. Grand Jury returns indictments 21 Jun 2016

Charges brought against 7 individuals from Campbellsville, Greensburg, Georgetown, Henderson, and Lebanon, Kentucy, on charges including murder, assault, possession, DUI, wanton endangerment and burlary.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Taylor County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Campbellsville, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Tue 21 Jun 2016:


  • Charles Whitley (08/13/1977), Wooleyville Rd., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00081. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Possession controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (opiates). Count 2 - Drug paraphernalia buy/possess. Bond set at $1,000 unsecured, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law.

  • William Q. Wooley (02/08/1979), Elkhorn Rd., Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00082. Charged with 5 counts. Counts 1-5 - Unlawful transaction with a minor, 1st degree illegal sexual act, under 16 years of age. Bond set at $50,000 cash, no contact with victim, nor her residence.

  • Robert Spurling (08/26/1955), Purcell Ct., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00084. Charged with 8 counts. Count 1 - Driving DUI suspended/revoked license, 3rd offense. Count 2 - Operating motor vehicle under influence of alcohol/drugs, .08 aggravort, 5th offense. Count 3 - No operators/moped license. Count 4 - Failure to notify address change to Department of Transportation. Count 5 - Failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, 1st offense. Count 6 - Rear license not illuminated. Count 7 - Failure to wear seatbelts. Count 8 - Failure to produce insurance card. Bond set at $20,000 cash, no driving, no alcohol.

  • Rocky T. Ashby (09/14/1980), McFarland Dr., Georgetown, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00085. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Burglary, 1st degree. Count 2 - Assault, 4th degree (domestic violence) minor injury. Bond set at $25,000(10%), no contact with complaining witness or victims, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law.

  • Mario Lamarr Thompson (03/09/1987), E. Walnut St., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00086. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Theft of property mislaid or delivery by mistake, $500 or more but under $10,000. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 2nd degree. Bond set at $1,000 cash, no contact with victim.

  • Brandon Eblen (06/30/1989), Tscharner Rd., Henderson, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00087. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Possession controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (heroin). Bond set at $1,000 cash.

  • William M. Calhoun (04/30/1991), Oak St., Lebanon, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00089. Charged with 5 counts. Count 1 - Murder. Count 2 - Assault, 1st degree. Counts 3-5 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Bond set at $500,000 full cash, no contact with complaining witness or families, no weapons.
