Mrs. Doris Long Hickerson, 81, departed this life Monday evening at the Greensburg Retirement Home in Greensburg, KY.

Funeral service will be at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, at 1pmCT, Thursday, June 23, 2016, with Rev. Victor Matney and Rev. Casey Durrett the officiating clergy. Visitation will be 5pmCT til 8pmCT, Wednesday, June 22, 2016, and after 7amCT, Thursday. Burial will be in Greasy Creek Cemetery, Exie Community of Green County, KY



Pallbearers: Ronald Matney, Tony Matney, Billy Joe Jeffries, Ezra Hickerson, Zachary Hickerson, and Michael Froggett.

Honorary pallbearers: Greasy Creek Adult Women's Sunday School Class, Arlene Hickerson, Latisha Milby, Jill Shipp, Robert and Era VanArsdale, Payton Hickerson, Emma Hickerson, Dagyn Joe Milby, and Bentley Wayne Forman.

Doris Hickerson, 81, Green Co., KY (1934-2016)

Mrs. Doris Long Hickerson was born November 22, 1934 in Madisonville, Hopkins County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Geneva Long. She departed this life Monday evening at the Greensburg Retirement Home in Greensburg, Green County, KY, having attained the age of 81 years, six months and 30 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church. She was employed at Fruit-of-the-Loom and at the Green County Country Club.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons: Joe Hickerson, Jr. and Kenneth Ray Hickerson.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Hickerson, and the following:
  • Two sons: Ricky Hickerson and his wife Tammy; and Marty Hickerson and his companion Sherri Whitlow, all of Greensburg, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Zachary and Ezra Hickerson, Litisha Milby and Jill Shipp

  • Four great grandchildren: Emma and Payton Hickerson, Dagyn Joe Milby and Bentley Wayne Forman

  • Plus a host of other relatives and friends.
