Mrs. Mary Lou Posey Edwards, Green Co., KY (1949-2016)

Mrs. Edwards had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Hogards Chapel United Methodist Church. She was employed at Fruit of the Loom, then attended Beauty College and became a beautician and later was employed at Air Guard for seven years. At a younger age she enjoyed square dancing. Mrs. Edwards also enjoyed going to church, quilting and fishing with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary Lou Posey Edwards, 66, departed this life Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service will be at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, at 11amCT, Monday, June 13, 2016. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Sunday, June 12, 2016, at the funeral home and after 7amCT, Monday. Entombment to follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Pallbearers will be Paul Benskin, Chaise Ford, Charles Posey, and Larry Lyons. Rev. Steve Latham will be the officiating clergy.



Mrs. Mary Lou Posey Edwards, Green Co., KY (1949-2016)

Mrs. Mary Lou Posey Edwards was born July 18, 1949 in Green County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Elbert Posey and Mae Florence Rogers Posey. She departed this life Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY., having attained the age of 66 years, 11 months and 22 days.

Mrs. Edwards had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Hogards Chapel United Methodist Church. She was employed at Fruit of the Loom, then attended Beauty College and became a beautician and later was employed at Air Guard for seven years. At a younger age she enjoyed square dancing. Mrs. Edwards also enjoyed going to church, quilting and fishing with her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William A. (Billy) Edwards on August 22, 2007, five brothers and one sister: Jr. Posey, Samuel Posey, Billy Gene Posey, Larry Thomas Posey, James Ray Posey and Loren Lynn Posey.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son and his wife: William Wayne Edwards and Dana of Hendersonville, TN

  • One daughter: Karen Edwards of Campbellsville, KY

  • Six sisters and one brother: Mary Alice Meadows of Metcalfe County, KY; Peggy Sue Curry, Brenda Faye Matney, Linda Kaye Hall all of Green County, KY; and Connie Patterson of Campbellsville, KY; Lauren Posey of LaGrange, KY; and L.P. Posey of Russell Springs, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Cody Edwards, Kelly Rae Edwards, Chaise Ford and Aydan Edwards.
