Wayne "Buddy" Thacker, 68, of Evansville, Indiana formerly of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, June 10,2 016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

Graveside service Monday, June 13, 2016 at 4pmCT, at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, in Cumberland County, KY with military honors. Family requests visitation on Monday, June 13, 2016 after 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY.



Wayne "Buddy" Thacker, 68, Evansville, IN (1947-2016)

Buddy was born on September 10, 1947 in Cumberland County, KY. He was the son of the late Robert "Bob" and Bessie Riddle Thacker. He died Friday, June 10, 2016, in Evansville, Vanderburgh County, IN, at the age of 68 years, nine months.

He was an U. S. Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Geneva Thacker; his special friend, Sherry Nation; siblings, Billy Joe Thacker, Aline Riddle, Malba Perkins, Robert Earl Thacker, Willie J. Thacker, and Imogene Thacker.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter: Michelle Clemons of Albany, KY

  • One step Daughter: Felicia Wray of Burkesville, KY

  • Sherry's daughter: Angie Tucker of Evansville, IN

  • Two sisters: Pansy Lee of Burkesville, KY and Sally McKee of Louisville, KY

  • Two brothers: David Thacker and Mark Thacker both of Burkesville, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Adam Spears, Joanna Henderson, Christina Albertson, Curtis Wray, Jeremy Smith, Johnny Riley, Jr.

  • Four great grandchildren: Zoey Henderson, C.J. Henderson, William Albertson, Edward Riley, Jr.

  • and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends
