Two die in Freightliner v Malibu crash, Sonora, KY

Two passengers in Malibu pronounced dead at the scene by Hardin Co. coroner. Driver of Malibu and another passenger airlifted to UL with serious injuries. Driver of Freightliner transported by ambulance to Hardin Memorial. Accident still under investigation by KSP Trooper Scott Rafferty

Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY

SONORA, KY (Sun 5 Jun 2016) - KSP Post 4 Troopers responded to a double fatal collision at the intersection of Ky.84 and U.S. 31-W early Saturday morning. On Saturday, June 4, 2016 at approximately 7:30amET.

Billy D. Williams (25) of Louisville, KY, was operating a 2008 Chevy Malibu eastbound on Ky. 84 approaching 31-W. Mr. Williams was accompanied by three passengers, Patrick Gatson (28), Betty Gatson (51), and Dashana Mainor (21) all of Louisville.



Kenneth S. Pritchard (74) of Horse Cave was operating a 2004 Freightliner crew cab flat bed truck and trailer northbound on U.S. 31-W.
He was accompanied by one passenger, Gary Lee Dennison (66) also of Horse Cave, KY.

For unknown reasons, Williams pulled into the path of Pritchard's vehicle causing him to strike the passenger side of Williams vehicle.

Betty Gatson and Dashana Mainor were both pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin Co. Coroner's Office.

Billy Williams and Patrick Gatson were airlifted to University Of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries.

Kenneth Pritchard was transported by ambulance to Hardin Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident is still under investigation by KSP Trooper Scott Rafferty.
