Lois Antle Winfrey, 93, Taylor Co., KY; Adair Co. KY, native (1923-2016)

She was the daughter of the late William Bert Antle and Viola Murphy Antle, and the widow of Shelby Winfrey, her husband of over 53 years. She leaves 27 direct living descendants. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a former secretary at State Farm and Jessie Insurances. She served as a volunteer with the Taylor County Hospital Auxiliary for over twenty years logging in over 2000 hours, was a long time volunteer at Taylor County Crisis Center and taught reading through the Adult Education Program.

Lois Antle Winfrey, 93, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 1pmET, Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Campbellsville.

The funeral service will be at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 317 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, by Dr. Neil Salvaterra. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Monday, May 30, 2016, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, and after 10amCT/11amET, Tuesday at First United Methodist Church



Pallbearers: Andy McEwen, Jay Cottrell, Joey Reardon, Nathan Wilburn, Corey Shive, and Steve Davie.

Lois Antle Winfrey of Campbellsville, KY, was the daughter of the late William Bert Antle and Viola Murphy Antle. She was born April 25, 1923 in Adair County, KY. She died at Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 93 years, one month, and three days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a former secretary at State Farm and Jessie Insurances. She served as a volunteer with the Taylor County Hospital Auxiliary for over twenty years logging in over 2000 hours, was a long time volunteer at Taylor County Crisis Center and taught reading through the Adult Education Program.

She united in marriage to Shelby Winfrey on April 28, 1946. He preceded her in death March 11, 2000.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son: Steve Winfrey of Bowling Green, KY

  • Two daughters: Susan McEwen and husband, Kevin, and Sheri Cottrell and husband, Stan of Upton, KY

  • Nine grandchildren: Jordan Tillis of Jacksonville, FL; Andy McEwen of Little Rock, AR; Cameron Staiger of Westfield, Ohio; Tucker McEwen of Kotweiler-Schwanden, Germany; Elizabeth Reardon of Bowling Green, KY; Lindsey Davie of New Castle, IN; Erin Wilburn of Nashville, TN; Kacey Shive of Elizabethtown, KY; and Jay Cottrell of Munfordville, KY

  • Fifteen great-grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends
She was also preceded in death by one son Charles David Winfrey in infancy; and two brothers: William Bert Antle, Jr. and Robert Lewis Antle.
