Jewell Woodrum Coleman, 77, Liberty, KY (1939-2016)

She was a housewife and farmer. Jewell loved to cook, talk to her friends, and feed everyone. She was a native of Casey County, KY, a resident of the county at the time of her death, and will be laid to rest in Casey County, KY, at Poplar Springs Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lora Whited Woodrum, and the widow of Johnnie Coleman. She leaves four direct living descendants.

Jewell Woodrum Coleman of Liberty, KY passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was 77.

Funeral services are at 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday May 29, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Johnny Maupin officiating. Mrs. Jewell Coleman will be laid to rest in Poplar Springs Cemetery Visitation is Sunday from 10amCT/11amET, until the funeral service.



Pallbearers are Randy Dalton, Donnie Hatter, Kolby Slone, Leon Buck, Johnny Coleman, and Jason Slone. Honorary pallbearer is Bobby Williams.

Jewell Woodrum Coleman, 77, Liberty, KY (1939-2016)

Born April 11, 1939 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lora Whited Woodrum. She died Thursday, May 26, 2016, in Danville, Boyle County, KY, at the age of 77 years, one month, and 15 days.

She was a housewife and farmer. Jewell loved to cook, talk to her friends, and feed everyone.

Survivors include:
  • A son: Chris Coleman of Liberty, KY

  • A daughter: Karen (and Nathan) Slone of Liberty, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Devin Coleman and Channer Slone

  • Two sisters: Irene Roberts and Ernestine (and Larry) Thomas both of Ohio

  • A sister-in-law: Faye Woodrum

  • And a host of friends
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnnie Coleman, who passed away January 17, 2000; and brother, Gerald Woodrum.
