Freddie Burton, 79, Adair County, KY (1936-2016) He made friends everywhere he went. He was a very well-known and respected trainer in the horse racing industry across the country. He was a member of a large, respected Northeast Adair County Kentucky family. He was the son of the late Rufus & Anna mary Foster Burton. He was the patriarch of a very large family. He leaves 45 direct living descendants and took great pride that his one one of the few families with five generations at one time. He loved his families - His blood family, the Burtons and related, and his horse family. At almost any track, he'd meet horsemen he knew by name, and they knew him and loved him. His final resting place will be in Bearwallow Cemetery. He died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 79 years, six months, and one day. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second mother, Evelyn Burton; three brothers, Harold, Bobby Dale and Edward Burton; and one sister, Glenna Mann. He was a very well-known and respected trainer in the horse racing industry across the country. Survivors include:
