Letter: How did Montpelier get its name?

Phil Hanna writes:
Do you know where Montpelier get its name? I have not found this in the Kentucky Place Names books. Montpelier in France was a Huguenot stronghold; I had wondered if some of the settlers in that area where of Huguenot background in the same way that Daniel Trabue was of Huguenot background. --Phil Hanna
Phil, Thanks to one of our readers, we have an answer to this question:
Steve Weston: How Montpellier/Montpelier got its name
