Carla Monday, 54, Casey County, KY (1961-2016)

Carla was an employee of Amazon and a member of Shady Grove Separate Baptist Church. She was a former LPN, having worked at Oakwood in Somerset, KY; and the Marion County Detention Center. Carla was always laughing or telling a joke and her loving smile will be missed by many. She was the daughter of Polly Scherrer Monday and the late Carl Monday. She leaves three direct living desendants. She had strong family roots in Casey, Adair, Russell and Taylor Counties, KY, and elsewhere.

Carla Monday, age 54, of Casey County, KY, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, in Taylor Co., KY due to injuries received in an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be held at 12pmCT/1pmET, Monday, May 16, 2016, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Danny Bailey and Bro. Elvis Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4pm7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Sunday, May 15, 2016, at the funeral home.

Born June 17, 1961, in Taylor Co., KY, she was a daughter of Polly Scherrer Monday of Liberty, KY; and the late Carl Monday. She died Tuesday, May 10, 2016, in Taylor County, KY, at the age of 54 years, 10 months, and 23 days.

Carla was an employee of Amazon and a member of Shady Grove Separate Baptist Church. She was a former LPN, having worked at Oakwood in Somerset, KY; and the Marion County Detention Center. Carla was always laughing or telling a joke and her loving smile will be missed by many.

Survivors include:
  • Her son: Jordon Monday of Liberty, KY

  • Daughter: Ellie Bell (and fiance', Corey Johnson) of Lebanon, KY

  • Mother: Polly Scherrer Monday of Liberty; brother, Lee (and Kim) Monday of Columbia, KY

  • Sister: Jenny (and Kevin) Wallace of Jamestown, KY

  • Granddaughter: Kennedy

  • Nephew: Kerry Monday

  • Nieces: Kendell Monday, Katie Tillison, Sarah Lynn, Scherridan and Shelby Bell, and Samantha Wethington.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Monday, who died on January 15, 2016.
