Missing Casey County woman found dead in fatal collision

Victim of fatal collision was reported missing by family members after not showing up from work at Amazon.com.

COLUMBIA, KY – Trooper Adam Likins is investigating a collision that occurred on Tuesday, May 10 at approximately 11:40amCT, on Stoner Creek Road in Taylor County.

54-year-old Carla Monday, of Liberty, KY was operating a westbound 2005 Saturn on Stoner Creek Road, when she ran off the roadway, over an embankment and struck several trees. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.



Monday was reported missing by family members on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, after not showing up from work on Tuesday evening.

She also never reported to her noon shift at Amazon.com on Tuesday.

An extensive search of the route she was known to take to work, led to the discovery of the vehicle over and down an embankment that made the vehicle difficult to see from the roadway.

Trooper Likins was assisted by family members during the search, Taylor County Fire, EMS and Rescue.
