Hazel C. Grant Hill, 91, Adair Co., KY (1924-2016)

She attended the Beulah Land Community Church in Campbellsville, KY and was a homemaker. She was a member of a large, highly regarded Adair County family. She was the daughter of the late Conda & Annie Burbridge Grant, and the widow of Marvin Mitchum, later of Charlie L. Browder, and later, Chester Hill. She leaves five direct living descendants.

Hazel C. Grant Hill, age 91 years of Campbellsville, KY formerly of Adair County passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 5:30amCT at her home.

Funeral service will be Friday, May 6, 2016 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Clergy officiating Bro. Ronnie Janes. Interment in the Stone Cemetery at Fairplay, KY. Visitation will be after 3:30pmCT, Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers Archie Brown, Danny Grant, Dale Corbin, Paul Blevins, Jamie Wade and Roger Washburn.

Hazel C. Grant Hill, 91, Adair Co., KY (1924-2016)

She was born on July 19, 1924 in Adair County. She was the daughter of the late Conda & Annie Burbridge Grant. She died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 91 years, nine months, and 15 days.

She was preceded in death by husbands Marvin Mitchum, Charlie L. Browder & Chester Hill; also by four brothers and one sister Venus Grant, Sanford Grant, Elford Grant, Russell Grant & Allene Patterson.

She is survived by two daughter:
  • Linda Wade & special friend Paul Blevins of Louisville, KY; and Yvonne (Shelby) Magoffin of Louisville, KY.

  • One sister: Jewell Sneed of Gradyville, KY

  • One brother: Paul Grant of Breeding, KY

  • One grandchild: Jamie Wade

  • Two great grandchildren: Jackson and Liam Wade
  • Caregiver and niece: Bea Brown of Campbellsville, KY


  • Several nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends
