He was a native of Russell Springs, KY, and a resident of the city at the time of his death in Somerset, KY. He was the son of the late Lona (Pierce) and John Wesley Wilson, and the husband of Reba (Johnson) Wilson. He leaves seven direct living descendants. He served in the U.S. Army and was a greens keeper at the Lakewood Country Club

Cordell (Bill) Wilson, 84, of Russell Springs,KY, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.

Funeral Services for Cordell Bill Wilson will be Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at, 10amCT, at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, with Bro. Scott Proctor and Bro.Kenny Spaw officiating. Friends may visit after 5pmCT, at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Burial in the Bernard Cemetery with full Military Honors by the Russell County Honor Guard in Russell Springs,KY.



Cordell (Bill) Wilson, 84, Russell County, KY (1931-2016)


He was born in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, on May 4, 1931. He was a son of the late Lona (Pierce) and John Wesley Wilson. He died Sunday, May 1, 2016, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 27 days.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a Greens Keeper at the Lakewood Country Club.

He was the husband of Reba (Johnson) Wilson, of Russell Springs, KY.

Bill is survived by:
  • Three daughters: Shelia Stephens and Brenda (Richard) Grider both of Russell Springs, KY; and Patti (Ricky) Aaron, of Jamestown, KY

  • Sister: Ola Marie Dunbar, of Columbus, OH

  • Three grandchildren: Kim (Michael) Clark, Joshua and Bayle Aaron

  • One great grandchild: Molly Grace Clark
He is preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Billy Stephens, and 12 brothers and sisters.

Family request donations to the Russell County Honor Guard which can be made at the funeral home.
