CLARKSVILLE, TN - A pair of Lindsey Wilson outdoor track and field records fell on Saturday for the Blue Raiders while competing at the Austin Peay State Governors Invitational.

Jonah Quire and Desmond Mobley both set new men's program high marks, doing so in the pole vault and high jump events, respectively.

Competing against student-athletes from NCAA Division I and II institutions, Quire accomplished his record on Friday at the invitational after he cleared a mark of 3.72 meters (12-02 feet), breaking the previous program outdoor record of 3.60 meters (11-9.75 feet) set by Joshua Miller back in 2013. He would finish in seventh place overall in the event.

Mobley reached a height of 2.05 meters in the high jump, surpassing the previous program record of 2.02 meters set by Carmetrick Ross in 2014. Mobley's height was good enough for a national "B" standard and a fourth-place finish in the event. His mark is the eighth-best in the NAIA this season.

Rachel Green nearly made it three school records on the weekend after she reached a career-best height of 1.55 meters in the high jump. She attempted to match the school record height of 1.60 meters, but was unable to clear the bar. Green would capture 11th place in the event.

Mobley continued his strong showing this season in the jumping events after he added another win in the long jump with his distance of 7.43 meters, beating out 14 other competitors. Anthony Thompson also competed in the event, capturing fourth place with a distance of 6.68 meters.

John-Paul Williamson picked up a win in the 5,000 meter run after crossing the tape in 14:57.38. His time beat out 22 other runners and was good enough for a national "B" standard.

Dante Johnson won the 400 meter hurdles event after recording a season-best time of 53.41 seconds. He nearly added a second win in the 110 meter hurdles with his time of 15.05 seconds, but he finished .22 seconds behind the winning time.

Chanel Roberts nearly grabbed a win of her own in the shot put event but her toss of 13.25 meters came up just .01 meters shy of the winning distance as she finished second out of 19 competitors.

Kevin Hallmon saw success in the sprint events as he recorded a pair of top-five individual finishes on the day. He took fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.86 seconds, and finished as the runner-up in the 200 meters as 21.84, trailing only the winning time of 21.73 seconds.
R Emma Looney and Corey Hinkle both recorded two top-10 finishes in field events. Looney took 10th in the women's shot put and seventh in the discus throw, while Hinkle captured seventh in the men's discus and sixth in the javelin throw.

A number of Blue Raiders on the women's team saw personal and season-bests throughout the invitational.

Brandy Baas set a new career-best in two events, doing so with a distance of 28.89 meters in the javelin throw and a height 1.50 meters in the high jump.

Oreatha Hurt reached a personal best distance of 10.38 meters (36-09.00 feet) in the triple jump, Heather Wilson accomplished a personal best in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:29.60, breaking 2:30 for the first time, and VaShawnda Smith ran a season best time of 12.44 seconds in the 100 meters, good enough for fourth place. Hurt went on to record two more top-10 finishes, doing so in the 100 and 400 meter hurdles.

In the relay events, the men's 4x100 meter relay squad of Dondre Mimms, Austin Hayes, Holt Keeling and Hallmon ran a 41.70 to win the event, while the women's 4x100 relay team of Alexia DeHaven-Boyd, Smith, Annesha Harris and Kimberley Stevens accomplished a season best time of 49.03.

The Lindsey Wilson track and field teams now begin preparations for the Mid-South Conference Championships set to open on April 29 in Williamsburg, Ky.
