KSP Post 4 investigating Hardin Co. school bus accident

Driver loses control of bus with 50 students on board; crosses three lawns before striking residences. Driver airlifted to UL; all 50 students inside the bus unharmed. The accident still under investigation by KSP Trooper Jacobe Farmer

STEPHENSBURG, KY (Mon 11 Apr 2016) - Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown worked a single vehicle collision involving a Hardin County Schools bus in the 9000 block of Leitchfield Rd. On April 11, 2016 at approximately 3:25pET, Hardin Co. School bus #701 was traveling east on (U.S. 62) Leitchfield Road.



For unknown reasons, Jennifer M. Leon (38) of Eastview lost control of the bus and exited the roadway and traveled through three residential front lawns before striking the residence located at 9799 Leitchfield Rd.

There were 50 children inside the bus who were unharmed. Mrs. Leon was extricated and later transported by air to the University of Louisville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. KSP was assisted at the scene by the Hardin Co. SO, Hardin Co. EMS and the Stephensburg Fire Dept. The accident is still under investigation by KSP Post 4 Trooper Jacobe Farmer.
