Leonard C. Smith, 76, of Russell Springs, died Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY. Leonard had chosen cremation. Per his wishes, all services will be private.

Leonard C. Smith, 76, was born July 13, 1939 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Clarence E. & Gusta Jewell Sullivan Smith. He died Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY, at the age of 76 years, eight months, and 25 days.

He was a heavy equipment operator.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dessie Lou Smith.

Survivors include the following:
  • Five sisters: Margaret Stanton, Columbus IN; Jean Sinclair, Columbia, KY; Nelda Melson, Jamestown, KY; Wanda Curtis, Columbia, KY; and Patty Wells, Campbellsville, KY

  • Two brothers: Lloyd Smith, Edinburgh, IN; and Gordon Smith, Trafalgar, IN
