Cathy Long Akin, 51, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at her home.

Friends and family may call during visitation after 3pmCT Monday, March 28, 2016 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville St., Columbia, KY. The funeral service will be held that evening at 7pmCT Monday, March 28 at the funeral home. At Cathy's request, cremation will follow.



Cathy Long Akin, 51, Adair County, KY (1964-2015)

She was born July 3, 1964 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of Jimmy Long, and the late Patricia "Pat" Wright Hare. She died Saturday, March 26, 2016 in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 51 years, seven months, and 23 days.

Cathy Long Akin was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia "Pat" Wright Hare on October 4, 2015.

Her survivors include:
  • Her father - Jimmy Long of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter - Shauna Akin of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters - Cindi Alexander of Columbia, KY; Susan Lillis of Richmond, KY

  • Two grandchildren - Aiden and Axton Hadley

  • Special friends - Jake Hadley and Charles Kerr

  • Several other relatives and friends
