ACES students in leadership, college and career activities By Shamarie Harper, ACS Media - PR /Technology Resource Teacher /Migrant Recruiter Adair County Elementary School, in conjunction with Adair County High School and Community Partners, conducted their first ever Leadership, College and Career Day. The students who attended today ranged from 3rd grade through 5th grade and enjoyed the event without question. There were smiles and true interest in every direction you looked. The idea is for Adair County Schools students from Kindergarten to graduation to understand their community and the services available, with the underlying idea being that they begin to see themselves having that job, thinking about their future in the community and how they can get the education they need to prepare them. Community Partners included Ambulance Service, Law Enforcement, Corps of Engineers, United Citizens Bank, Lindsey Wilson College, Community Voice, Extension Office, Game Warden, Adair County Health Department, along with Adair County High School students representing different Career Pathways and organizations such as Art, Welding, Health Services, FFA, Gifted and Talented, Air and Space Academy, and others. Today was arranged and planned with the age group of the audience and real connections were made. It was a great day at ACES! This story was posted on 2016-03-25 17:23:59
