Trio arrested, charged with thefts at Columbia Walmart

On March 4, 2016, CPD Ofc. Jamie Cole and Josh Brockman were dispatched to Walmart shopping center when a loss prevention officer observed several subjects that appeared to be stealing merchandise.



As officers approached 38 year old William Adams of Edmonton, KY, he fled on foot and a chase ensued. Williams was caught in nearby field and placed into custody along with two additional females.

Arrested were:
  • William Adams, age 38 of Edmonton, KY charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking Under $500; Fleeing and Evading Police 2nd Degree.
  • Donita Foley, age 48 of Columbia, KY charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking Under $500.
  • Edna Freeman, age 38, of Edmonton, KY charged with : Public Intoxication 1st offense. Theft By Unlawful Taking Under $500
All three suspects were lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by CPD Ofc. Jamie Cole and Josh Brockman, Assisted by ACSO Deputy Justin Cross.

Issuance of warrants and/or arrests are not findings of guilt. An individual charged by police or in a warrant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.
