By Charles Balcom

COLUMBIA, KY - Senior Raul Mendez has been selected as the Mid-South Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday, March 14, 2016

Mendez won his singles and doubles matches in Lindsey Wilson's 6-3 victory over Union (KY) last week.

In the top doubles flight, Mendez and teammate Tomas Deppiagio won with an 8-5 decision to start the day.

The Mexico City, Mexico native then went on to win his top singles flight matchup in a 6-1, 6-0 straight-sets victory, helping the Blue Raiders to move to 4-2 on the season.

He becomes the second Blue Raider to earn the MSC weekly honor this year, joining teammate Alonso Tellez.

This is Mendez's first conference weekly honor of the season and second of his career.
