Investigation of Greenbriar auto accident followed by arrest

Driver of vehicle with passenger injury faces multiple charges, including leaving the scene of an an accident with injury and wanton endangerment

The Adair Sheriff's Office responded with Adair EMS and Breeding Fire Department to a single vehicle accident early Saturday morning on Saturday, March 5, 2016, in the area of Coy Claywell Road and Greenbrier Road.

The caller originally reached Cumberland County 911 due to cell towers bouncing the signal, Cumberland County transferred the call to Adair 911 when they realized caller was in Adair County.



The vehicle, a white 2010 Toyota left the roadway going into a creek that runs through Coy Claywell and Greenbrier before finally becoming hung up and coming to a stop.

Christopher Hadley, 21, of Columbia was identified as the driver by other occupants of the vehicle had fled the scene and was located by Deputy Adam Cravens less than a mile from the accident on Greenbrier Road in a ditch.

Two other occupants, Sara Bault, 23 and Joseph Haygood, 37, both of Columbia were still in the vehicle upon first responders arrival. They were removed from the vehicle where Haygood waived treatment on scene while Bault was transferred to TJ Columbia for a possible head injury.

The original caller, Cody Morrison, who was able to remove himself from the vehicle also waived treatment on the scene.

Christopher Hadley who was identified as the operator of the vehicle was charged with DUI 2nd and Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License, both misdemeanors. As well as Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injury, and 3 counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st degree, both felonies. Deputy Adam Cravens was the arresting officer. - Adair County, KY Sheriff's Office
