Grabara earns MSC Men's Golfer of the Week honors

By Charlie Balcom

Senior Jonathon Grabara has been named the Mid-South Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Grabara finished tied for fifth place out of 63 golfers at the Battle of the Beach Tournament held at TPC Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, S.C.

The Crofton, Ky., native posted rounds of 71 and 80 during the two-day tournament over the weekend. His 71 on the opening day was the lone score under par during the round and put him alone in first place after the first 18 holes.

He guided the Blue Raiders to a seventh-place finish at the event in the 10-team field that featured mainly NCAA Division II competition.

Grabara earns his first golfer of the week honor this season and the first of his career.
