LWC Men's Indoor Track & Field ranked No. 18 By Charlie Balcom The Lindsey Wilson men’s indoor track and field team earned a No. 18 ranking in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association national team computer rankings, the organization announced on Monday. The Blue Raiders received 65.47 points from the national computer rankings system, moving up two spots from their previous ranking of No. 20 in the last poll. This is the final poll before the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships this weekend. Scores in the National Team Computer Rankings were determined by the USTFCCCA computers using preseason event rankings that include the top marks of the recent NAIA indoor track & field seasons by returning student-athletes and the top marks of the young 2016 campaign. The closer an athlete is to the top of his or her event rankings, the more points he or she earns toward the team total. Points from all applicable athletes are added up to determine team scores. Indiana Tech (451.35) continues their reign atop the rankings heading into the championships, followed by Wayland Baptist (Texas) (251.97) and Doane (Neb.) (249.02). Lindsey Wilson remains as the lone team from the Mid-South Conference to be represented in the 25-team rankings. The Blue Raiders are currently preparing for the NAIA National Championships set to kick off on Thursday in Johnson City, Tenn. This story was posted on 2016-03-01 14:55:42
