Miguel Reyes is MSC Baseball Player of the Week

By Charlie Balcom

Miguel Reyes is the Mid-South Conference Baseball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The junior outfielder from Brooklyn, N.Y., went 9-for-15 and drove in six runs as the Blue Raiders won all five games they played last week.

Along with posting a batting average of .600 over the five games, he also scored six runs and hit a pair of home runs.

Against Purdue-North Central (Ind.) on Sunday, Reyes was 3-for-3 at the plate with two home runs and five RBIs.

Reyes is hitting .425 in the early portion of the season and is second on the team with 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored.

Lindsey Wilson is 12-4 on the year.

Reyes earns his first player of the week honor of the season and of his career. He joins teammate Jan Carlos Ortiz as a previous MSC Player of the Week recipient this season.
