Adair County Elementary School Celebrates with Pie Click on headline for complete article with lists of pie throwers and pie receivers By Alice Curry News from Adair County Elementary School Adair County Elementary School students had an exciting assembly program on Thursday, 18, 2016. Because of student progress shown from the fall MAP assessment and winter MAP assessment, teachers were treated with pie by the students (in the face!). Five lucky teachers were randomly drawn for this sweet treat! Winners were as follows: Teresa Absher, Courtney Grant, Lisa Cowan, Sarah Dean, Mr. Steve Burton, Mrs. Sandy Wilson and "pie favorite", Mike Mantooth. Students selected to throw were drawn based on perfect attendance or most improved MAP scoring from fall to winter. Those students were as follows: 5th grade students, Braeden Coomer and Lucas Murphy; 4th grade students, Chris Thompson, Kiley Willis and Tanner Coomer; 3rd grade students, Alexia Parnell, Abigail Curry and Kaden Greene. MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) is given to Adair County Elementary students three times per year (fall, winter & spring). Teachers use this information to measure student progress and growth. Teachers also use to group students for instruction, guide daily practice and close achievement gaps. This story was posted on 2016-02-22 07:57:53
