Michael Regan responds to Mr. Beard

Michael Regan writes:
To whom this may concern; I want to center my opinion on item no.3 of Mr. Beard's editorial. The crux of his point seems to be that our young citizens will be drinking and, therefore, should be taught to do so with moderation. Where is the other side of the story? Is it not a better path to a teach them what the Bible actually advocates; that fermented drinks lead the soul away from a relationship with the Lord? They open the door to loose character and suggestive influence. Who does anyone know that has added one moment of lasting value to their lives by drinking alcohol. If such a crutch is needed for relaxation or socialization, then there is certainly a need for introspection. What does that person need in their life to be at peace with who they are without a drug like alcohol? Remember, it IS a drug, and a very powerful one, at that. Thank you. May God bless Adair County residents. Vote NO. - Michael Regan
