Humphrey Dee (J.R.) Raisor, Jr., Adair Co. KY (1960-2016)

Mr. Raiser was a carpenter for several years and a farmer; he had been a past leader of Boy Scout Troop 88 in Columbia, KY.He was a native of Shelby County, KY, a resident of Adair County, KY, at the time of his death, and his final resting place will be Jefferson County, KY. He was the son of the late Humphrey D. Raisor Sr. and Nelly Downey Raisor. His wife Linda Walden Raisor, Columbia, KY, survives.

Humphrey Dee "J.R." Raisor Jr. 55 years of Columbia, KY formerly of Shelbyville, KY passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 5:24 AM at the Westlake Cumberland Hospital Emergency Room in Columbia, KY after several months illness.

Funeral service will be Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 12pmCT/1pmET at Shannon Funeral Home, 1124 W Main Street, Shelbyville, KY. Burial in the Floyds Fork Cemetery in Jefferson Co. KY. Visitation Thursday after 3:30pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, and after 1:30pmCT/2:30pmET, Friday, February 12, 2016, at Shannon Funeral Home and on Saturday until the service hour at Shannon Funeral Home.

He was born September 15, 1960 in Shelbyville, Shelby County, KY the son of the late: Humphrey D. Raisor Sr. and Nelly Downey Raisor of Shelbyville, KY. He died Wednesday, February 10, 2016, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 55 years, four months, and 26 days.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son Donald Richard Reese Raisor and by two sisters Juanita Yates and Deanna Knapp, two brothers: Phillip Raisor and Jimmy Dale Raisor J. R. is survived by his wife: Linda Walden Raisor of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One step daughter: Stephanie Shuck of Columbia, KY

  • Three brothers: Floyd Raisor of Shelbyville, KY, Danny (Angie) Raisor of Eminence, KY Jerry Raisor of Paducah, KY

  • Five sisters: Polly Woodford of Frankfort, KY; Nancy Bryson of Pleasureville, KY; Joann Gordon of Shelbyville, KY; Mary (Dannie) Cox of Shelbyville, KY; and Joyce Cadrera of Evansville, Indiana

  • Six step grandchildren: Courtney, Megan, Cheyanne Shuck, Daniel Shuck, Brandon Shuck, and Keveon Beech

  • Two great grandchildren: Jasmine & Jordon Shuck
Mr. Raiser was a carpenter for several years and a farmer, he had been a past leader of Boy Scout Troop 88 in Columbia, KY.
