LWC Men's Bowling takes eighth at Eagle Classic By Charlie Balcom The Lindsey Wilson men's bowling team put together a pair of top-10 finishes over the weekend as the Blue Raiders finished eighth at the Eagle Classic on Saturday, followed by a ninth-place finish at the Norse Collegiate Classic on Sunday. The Blue Raiders racked up 6,247 pins en route to their eighth-place finish at the Eagle Classic. Fourteen total varsity teams competed at the event held at Eastland Lanes in Lexington, along with eight junior varsity squads. Tyler Goodman was the top Lindsey Wilson finisher as he captured 32nd place with 924 total pins in his five games. His best game was his final one as he bowled a 230 in his fifth frame. Cody Miller racked up 738 pins in his four games, with his highest being a 199. John Loftus, Derek Lyons and Clay Church each bowled three games, finishing with scores of 538, 498 and 496, respectively. Eli Kapres bowled a 467 in three games, Kawika Glover hit 312 in his two games and Dustin McMahan bowled a 279 in two games to complete the Blue Raider varsity team. The Blue Raider junior varsity men's team finished in seventh place out of eight teams at the event. Jeffrey Hulette II was the top Lindsey Wilson bowler as he captured 40th place overall with 886 pins in his five games. Lucas Ward added 753 pins in five games towards the Blue Raiders' totals. Emmanuel's (Ga.) Kyle Ortiz won the men's varsity competition with a 1,090. Lindenwood (Mo.) captured the team victory with 7,494 pins, edging out Morehead State (Ky.) in second place with 7,390. On Sunday, the Blue Raiders accumulated 6,325 pins en route to their ninth-place finish at the Norse Collegiate Classic hosted by Northern Kentucky. Kawika Glover paced the team with his 41st-place finish as he accounted for 984 pins. Goodman finished shortly behind him in 51st place with 879 pins. Loftus recorded 693 pins in four games, while Kapres hit 655 in four games. The Lindsey Wilson junior varsity team finished in ninth place, led by Garret Fausnaugh's 58th place with 853 pins. Ohio State captured the team title with 7,311 total pins. The Buckeyes' Wayne Apgar took home the individual title with a total of 1,108.
