News from the office of KY Attorney General Andy Beshear

FRANKFORT, KY (Mon 8 Feb 2016) – Attorney General Andy Beshear and his Department of Criminal Investigations today announced the recent indictments of two former Ballard County officials, each on one count of official misconduct.

Former Ballard County Jailer Mike Horn, 70, of Wickliffe, and former Deputy Jailer Monica Galloway, 45, of Bardwell, were recently indicted by a Ballard County Grand Jury concerning recordkeeping at the Ballard County Detention Center.

Attorney General investigators played a critical role in the investigation leading to the indictments that stemmed from four findings in the 2013 Ballard County Fiscal Court Audit, which was referred to the AG's office by the state auditor on July 31, 2015.

"As Attorney General, I will not tolerate public corruption," Beshear said. "I want to thank the members of my criminal investigations unit for reviewing the audit and financial records of the jail, and Ballard County Commonwealth Attorney Mike Stacy for handling the case."
