James Murrell: Recommends a Great Pyrenees v. Black Vultures

Comments re article 80884 Black Vulture depredation a priority for KY US Farm Bureaus

By James Murrell

So we are being asked to apply for a permit that will give us legal permission to kill a predator that is killing livestock?

Being a lifelong Kentuckian, I do not remember seeing any or hearing of these Black Vultures before the last few years.

Makes me ask why suddenly have their populations grown to the point of becoming adverse and detrimental to livestock of all types?

I have purchased a Great Pyreneese to guard my goats; best investment I think I have ever made; nothing and I mean nothing, gets near them with her on duty, including Vultures. --James Murrell
