Basketball homecoming celebrated at CHS By Calen McKinney, Public Information Officer/Grant Writer Campbellsville Independent Schools (CIS), Campbellsville, KY Campbellsville High School celebrated basketball homecoming this week, culminating with the crowning of a homecoming king and queen, CHS seniors Kathryn Doss and Austin Hash. Caylie Blair and Ricky Smith-Cecil, juniors, were crowned prince and princess. The homecoming ceremony was before the CHS boys’ varsity basketball game vs. Metcalfe County on Saturday, Feb. 6, which CHS won by a score of 67-66. The junior class won spirit week, followed by sophomores and seniors. Homecoming dress-up days began on Monday, Feb. 1. On Monday, students dressed for College Day and supported their favorite college or university. Tuesday was Famous Family Day and students were asked to work together to dress as their favorite famous family. On Wednesday, students dressed for Dead Celebrity Day. Thursday was Destination Day, with students dressing as if they were traveling to various locations. Freshmen dressed for New York, sophomores dressed for Hawaii, juniors dressed as if they are visiting Texas and seniors dressed for Alaska. On Friday, students dressed in purple and gold to support the Eagles. Along with dress-up days, students played spirit games each day. On Monday, student played musical chairs. The sophomore class won, with seniors receiving second place. Tuesday’s game was Just Dance. The senior class won, with juniors coming in second. On Wednesday, students played a game with shaving cream and Cheetos. While students put shaving cream on their heads, which were covered with shower caps, their classmates tried to throw as many Cheetos as possible in the shaving cream. The sophomore class won, with juniors receiving second place. Thursday’s game was Ninja. The junior class won, with sophomores in second place. On Friday, students played the furniture game.
