Janis Aaron, 92, of Somerset, KY, formerly of Russell Springs, KY, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland regional Hospital in Somerset.

Funeral service for Janis Aaron will be at 12pmNoonCT, Monday, February 1, 2016, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Lindsey Cornett officiating. Special music by Diane Hughes, Bobby Dunbar. Visitation will be after 11amCT, Monday. Interment in the Bernard Cemetery.

She was born Monday, February 26, 1923 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Okle & Flora Gaskins Johnson. She died Thursday, January 28, 2016, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 92 years, 11 months, and two days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Bernard Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lilburn "Nub" Aaron.

Survivors include the following:
  • Son: Marshall (Kay) Aaron, Somerset, KY

  • Grandson: Micah (Janet) Aaron, Elizabethtown, KY

  • Three granddaughters: Marsha (Michael) Lawson, Somerset, KY; Chelsea (Nick) Vaughn, Port St. Joe, FL; and Brittany Aaron, Somerset, KY

  • Eight great grandchildren: Sadie Brinson, Aleah Aaron, Ezra Aaron, Jack Vaughn, Belle Vaughn, Bo Vaughn, Gavin Lawson, and Ava Lawson

  • Two brothers: Aubrey (Verta) Johnson, Jamestown, KY; andBenge (Jerry) Johnson, Russell Springs, KY

  • One sister: Faye Harness, Cincinnati, Ohio
