Freda Jane Bolt Davis, Casey Co., KY (1935-2016)

Mrs. Davis was a seamstress and a member of the New Testament Baptist Church. She was a basket weaver and quilt maker. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and embroidering. She was the daughter of the late Ellis Bolt & Eva West Bolt Bernard. Her husband of 65 years, Deward Dean Davis, survives. She leaves 26 direct living descendants.

Freda Jane Bolt Davis, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at her residence. She was 80.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at 1pmCT/2pmET, on Sunday, January 31, 2016, at the New Testament Baptist Church, 707 Hustonville Street, Liberty, KY, with Rev. George Pierce officiating. Visitation will be held after 12pmCT/1pmET, at the Church on Sunday.

Born May 30, 1935, in Casey Co., KY, she was a daughter of the late Ellis Bolt and Eva West Bolt Bernard. She died Thursday, January 28, 2016, at her home in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 80 years., seven months, and 29 days. Mrs. Davis was a seamstress and a member of the New Testament Baptist Church. She was a basket weaver and quilt maker. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and embroidering.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, whom she wed on September 28, 1950, Deward Dean Davis. and the following:
  • A son: Ronnie (Sally) Davis of Liberty, KY

  • Daughters: Terri (Bailey) Parsons of Thomasville, NC; Sherrie (Danny) McNeely of Austin, IN; Rene (Ronni) Whitesell of Climax, NC; and Angela (Mark) Nunn of Trinity, NC

  • Brothers: Howard (Carol) Bolt of Liberty, KY; Chester (Tiny) Bolt of Indianapolis, IN; and Roger (Marjorie) Bolt of San Antonio, TX

  • Sisters: Shirley Garrett of Campbellsville, KY; and Marjorie Lincolnhooker of Franklin, IN

  • Ten grandchildren

  • and 11 great-grandchildren
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, c/o Development Department, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset KY 42503 or to the New Testament Baptist Church, 707 Hustonville St., Liberty, KY 42539.
