A Message from County Judge Executive Mike Stephens

Annex is OPEN for shelter and all utilities and first responders are standing by to help

To the Citizens of Adair County, KY
Good morning ... Project Snow Removal and Recovery is in full swing from all reports ... All agencies for emergency management are coordinated, and Senator Max Wise and State Rep. Bam Carney have been in close communication with me as road crews are reporting in full snow removal. 911 is fully staffed and coordinated with EM Mike Keltner, police, ambulance service, fire departments, sheriff and deputies, search and rescue, constables and our utilities are standing by on alert and/or are working.

I thank everyone for cooperation, patience, and understanding in these trying and difficult hours as always we come together and overcome Mother Nature's challenges. The County Annex is open and has shelter for everyone in need.
Thank you ... - Michael Lee Stephens, Adair County Judge Executive.

Downtown storm measure just before noon Friday

2016-01-22 - 122 East Fortune Street, Columbia, KY - Photo CM staff.
This very UNscientific measure was taken just before noonCT and shows the very real possibility that Columbia is now at eight inches of snow and snow is still coming down hard and fast. The weather predictions were right on target this time, starting with the quarter inch of ice before the snow storm. The photo at right is of the bird feeder with ice in the bend and on the tip. It is great to see the courthouse annex is open for sheltering for anyone in need. Click read more for details. -- LW
