He was a native of Jamestown, KY, and a resident of Louisville, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Walter R. Halsell and the late Dora L. Ford Halsell. His wife, Barbara J.McWhorter, survives. He was a factory worker.

Elmer R. Halsell, 83, Old Six Mile Lane, Louisville, KY, formerly of Jamestown, KY, died Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Baptist East Hospital, Louisville, KY.

(Note: Due to the weather times have been revised as of 22 Jan 2016) Funeral services will be at 1pmCT, Monday, January 25, 2016, at the H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY. Visitation will be Sunday, January 23, 2016, after 5pmCT, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jack Lawless Cemetery, Jamestown, KY.



Elmer R. Halsell, 83, Russell County, KY (1933-2016)

He was born January 13, 1933, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Walter R. Halsell and the late Dora L. Ford Halsell. He died Thursday, January 21, 2016, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 83 years, eight days.

He was a factory worker.

Besides his wife, Barbara J. McWhorter Halsell, Louisville, KY, he is survived by the following:
  • One brother: Wayne Halsell, Jamestown, KY

  • Three sisters: Ruby Smith, Jamestown, Ky; Anna Collins, Russell Springs, Ky; and Betty Wilson, Louisville, KY.

  • And a host of nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by four brothers: William, Wilburn, Ralph and Earl Halsell; three sisters, Mildred Antle, Ruth Nelson, and Margaret Collins.
