LWC Wrestling ascends 5 spots to No. 9 in latest NAIA poll

Grand View (Iowa) remains as the top team in the poll with 180.5 total team points. Montana State-Northern is second, while Oklahoma City takes over the No. 3 position. Campbellsville (KY) is the lone other team from the Mid-South Conference West Division to be ranked in the poll, coming in at No. 6 with 72 points.

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson wrestling team moved up five spots to No. 9 in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 20 Poll, the national office announced on Wednesday, January 20, 2016.

The Blue Raiders received a total of 49 voting points from the panel of national raters. Lindsey Wilson has eight individuals ranked in the top 16 in their respective weight classes.



Cam Tessari earned the highest mention with a No. 3 ranking in the 157-pound weight class. Chico Adams is the next-highest Blue Raider to be ranked as he earned the No. 5 spot in the 285-pound class. Daniel Leonard is the final grappler to earn a top-10 mention as he ranks No. 7 at the 141-pound class.

Diorian Coleman and Rhodes Bell both rank No. 12 in their respective weight classes, Coleman at 165 pounds and Bell at 174 pounds. Matt Walker is just behind Bell at 174 as he ranks 13th and Jake Maupin ranks 13th at 197 pounds. James Flint is the final Blue Raider to be ranked as he earned the No. 14 spot at 125 pounds.
