CU Tiger basketball moves to No. 18 in NAIA Poll By Jordan Alves CU sports information director Kansas City, MO - A loss to No. 1 University of Pikeville didn't hurt Campbellsville men's basketball, as the Tigers moved up to No. 18 in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, officials announced on Tuesday night. The Tigers, who moved from No. 21 to No. 18, picked up 87 voting points from the national raters. Campbellsville (16-5, 3-4 MSC) is one of five Mid-South Conference teams mentioned in the poll. For the second straight week and third time overall this year, University of Pikeville (18-1, 5-1) remains at No. 1 after outlasting St. Catharine College and Campbellsville last week. The Bears were the unanimous decision, picking up nine first-place votes. Georgetown dropped to No. 5 after falling to unranked Lindsey Wilson College, 80-77 on Saturday. But the Mid-South still is the lone team in the country to boast two teams inside the Top 5. Campbellsville jumped to No. 18, while University of the Cumberlands (No. 28) and Lindsey Wilson (No. 33) are both receiving votes. LSU Alexandria (15-2) picked up 205 voting points and moved from fourth to No. 2 this week for its highest ranking in school history. Lewis-Clark State (18-1) also moved up two spots from No. 5 to third to tie its highest ranking. Columbia (17-2) fell to fourth after sneaking out one more vote than No. 5 Georgetown (197-196). The Golden State Athletic Conference lands three clubs in the Top 10 - No. 7 Hope International joins Arizona Christian and Biola, who are both tied for No. 10.
